As if the previously reported spate of crimes in our village isn’t enough, Rushcliffe Police have now revealed further thieving which was going on in Ruddington over Christmas!
This time it’s someone stealing used cooking oil from the rear of Gino’s Italian Restaurant on Church Street – the most recent theft being at 5.05am on Thursday 27th December 2017. Police have released a CCTV image (right) of the person they think is responsible.
Rushcliffe Neighbourhood Policing Inspector, Craig Berry, told us: “The suspect is a white male, approximately 40 to 50 years’ old. He’s possibly balding on top or wearing some sort of hat or head covering and was wearing a high visibility yellow vest. He drives a mid-sized dark coloured van although previously he had a white van – but no registrations are known. He spends a good 5 to 10 minutes at the scene stealing the waste oil.”
Officers have not revealed why they believe the spent cooking oil is being stolen.
Have you seen either of these vans and/or a driver matching this man’s description in our village centre? If you have, you’re asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101 to let them know, please. The crime reference number this time around is 18000010670.
